Welcome to the Mad Grammarian!
I am just a guy with a keen sense for misspellings and grammatical errors. I strive to be grammatically correct in all my communications, even going so far as spelling nearly everything out in the text messages I send. I am definitely anal-retentive when it comes to things of that nature, thanks to my parents drilling it into my head from the time I could speak. Anyway, I hope to highlight the ridiculous and absurd errors I find in my travels, both actual and virtual. I am currently employed in the computer industry, but would love to someday become a proofreader. I have no formal training in the subject other than the aforementioned parental guidance. My dad is a Public Affairs officer for a government agency in Washington DC; most of what I know about the rules of grammar were absorbed by me throughout my life. My mom is a financial administrator, and it was she who first enforced the rules with regards to speaking. Enough about me; it is now time for me to post some examples of poor grammar and spelling I have found recently. I will be focusing on professional examples (company websites, communications, press releases, etc). Thanks, and I hope people get some enjoyment out of this.
